DISTURBING: Police Discover Laptop Bomb In Kaduna?

An Improvised Explosive Device (IEDs) programmed in a new laptop dumped along Jema'a/Junction Road in Kaduna North Local Government Area was yesterday detonated by the Anti-Bomb Squad of the state police command, Weekly Trust has gathered.
It was gathered that residents of the area noticed the strange object around 4pm and drew the attention of security agencies. A trader in the area told Weekly Trust that they didn't know when the object was dumped, but only saw it.
"When we saw a carton at the middle of the road, we became apprehensive and people around quickly drew the attention of the security operatives," the trader said. The police anti-bomb squad who arrived the area around 4.50pm in three vans cordoned off the area immediately.
Spokesperson of the Kaduna Police command, DSP Aminu Lawan confirmed the detonation of the IEDs, saying the explosive was programmed in a new laptop.
"We have successfully detonated a IEDs programmed in a small brand new laptop. When we were alerted, our anti-bomb squad rushed there and after thorough examination, they confirmed it to be a IEDs. We have safely detonated it and there was no casualty. Already people are going about their normal lawful activities in the area," he said.
