The host of the just concluded Maltina Dance Hall, a Nigerian Breweries-sponsored TV show, Kemi Adetiba is presently involved in a financial mess.
The Law graduate turned cinematographer cum MC extraordinaire we gathered was arrested by the anti-graft agency, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over her project fee belonging to a church in Gbagada area of Lagos.
According to source, the sum of N15m (fifteen million Naira) was said to have been entrusted in care of Kemi some months ago. The money was given to her by a certain non-governmental organization in the church to handle a production; a job she is yet to do.
It was gathered that Kemi was arrested and whisked to the Okoti-Eboh street, Ikoyi office of the EFCC shortly before the reality show kicked off.
The Ekiti State-born lady then appealed to the officials of the agency to allow her host the “Season 6” of the annual show promising to sort the issue afterwards.
It is still unclear if the case has been resolved.
Efforts to reach Kemi Adetiba on her MTN line proved abortive as her phone was switched off.
