Information reaching us from our correspondent at the on-going Ondo gubernatorial election is that not less than 15 persons have been arrested for stuffing ballot boxes with thumb-printed ballot papers yesterday at the residence of an Afenifere leader, ahead of today’s election.
It was learnt that the Police were alerted of the illegal activities going on in the Afenifere leader’s house who endorsed one of the candidates and got the suspected arrested.
The suspects said the fake stuffed ballot boxes were meant to be swapped with the original ones on the way to the collation centres.
Daily post gathered that the fake voting materials were the leftovers of those that were used in the 2011 elections.
The suspects are currently being detained in custody of the Ondo State’ police command.
