Commercial drivers in Abuja today protested ban on mini buses by the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) following the deadline given to them to operate within designated routes within the city center. The protesters barricaded Maraba –Nyanya express road forcing the vehicles owners to abandon their vehicles on the road said that they would resist the anti people policy of the FCTA.
The feeder routes to be operated by mini buses includes ; Mombassa-Michael Okpara-Olusegun Obasanjo, MKO Abiola –Area One-Gudu- Apo Mechanic; Area One –Cement Market-Apo, Mechanic village and Jabi-Mbora –Kaura-Gudu Market.
Other routes include; Jabi-Mbora –SunCity- Apo Mechanic Village; Jabi-Mbora –Lugbe, Gwarinpa-Life Camp entrance First Gate, Bwari Town-Dutse Alhaji Expressway (ONEX), Kubwa Second Gate-First Gate and Mpape-Muritala Mohammed Junction.
The buses were restricted from operating within the city center
