KADUNA STATE: The Man Who Replaced Patrick Yakowa


Mr. Yero was an accountant In VP Sambo’s company.
The erstwhile Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Muktar Yero, will be sworn in as governor on Sunday morning following the death of the former governor, Patrick Yakowa in a helicopter crash on Saturday.
A certified Public accountant, Mr. Yero was born on May 21, 1968 in Agwan Kaura in Zaria City of Kaduna state.
He attended the LEA Primary School, Kaura, 1974-1980, for his primary education and proceeded to Government Secondary School, Ikara in 1980 for his secondary education.
Mr. Yero then proceeded to Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in 1986 where he obtained a Diploma Certificate in Banking.
After the Diploma programme, Mr. Yero went on to study Accounting at Degree level and Business Administration at Masters level from the same university.
Mr. Yero started his working experience as Assistant accountant during his National Youth Service Corps at Ogun State Purchasing Corporation between 1991 and 1992.
After the service he was employed as Higher Executive Officer Bursary Department at Ahmadu Bello University Zaria in 1993 before moving to Nigerian Universal Bank Limited as Accountant Supervisor the same year.
In 1997, Mr. Yero joined the services of Nalado Nigeria Limited, a company owned by Vice President Namadi Sambo as Chief Accountant.
After his election as the governor of Kaduna state in 2007, late Mr. Sambo appointed Mr. Yero as Commissioner of Finance in the state from 2007 to May 2010.
In May 2010, Governor Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa named him the Deputy Governor.
Mr. Yero is married with six children.
