Borno state governor, Kashim Shettima wept as a suicide Bomber attacked Gamboru market in Maiduguri Metropolis. The market was also gutted by fire.
Pointblanknews.com gathered that after a suicide bomber died soon after the the bomb exploded, one civilian was shot dead while three soldiers and two other civilians sustained severe injuries.
Eye witness account revealed the bomber was targeting military patrol vehicle belonging the Joint Task Force (JTF) near the market.
In what was seen as some sort of panic reaction, some stern looking JTF operatives were seen setting fire on all the stalls and building in the area, which led to the burning of a filling station and large part of Gamboru market.
The state Governor Shettima, was first to break the news amidst tears when he was hosting a courtesy call paid on him by northern governor’s forum committee on reconciliation, healing and security’.
‘As we are talking right now on how to put heads together to end this low level insurgency bedevilling us, Gamboru market about 5 kilometres away is on fire as a result of an attack’, Shettima mourned.
