YOBE STATE: Gunmen On Rampage, 6 Dead?


Boko Haram Kills 6 In Yobe…..As JTF Kills 4 In Borno
Not less than ten persons were last night killed by both the Boko Haram sect and the Joint Task Force (JTF) in two separate attacks in  Nangere and Maiduguri, Yobe and Borno states respectively. Security officials said.

Six local security guards were shot dead in their local office by suspected Boko Haram Terrorist last night in Nangere town of Yobe State, Lieutenant Lazarus Eli said on phone today.
” A group of gunmen suspected to be boko haram terrorists attacked and killed six  vigilante group who were ambushed in their local office at about the time they were setting out for night duty.” Eli said.
Also In Maiduguri the Borno State capital  the spokesman of the Joint Task Force (JTF) Lieutenant Colonel Sagir Musa, said in an e-mail statement sent to reporters today that a very senior leader of Boko Haram was killed alongside three other members.
“”The commander and  3 others lost their lives during an exchange of fire.
Three other terrorists were arrested and are in JTF custody under going interrogation. No casualty recorded on the side of JTF troops and no civilian was wounded.”
“The operation was intended to arrest a Top Boko Haram Terrorist Commander and his group believed to have come into maiduguri from Kano to cause havoc”.
“It is confirmed that he and his group are responsible for the recent series of  IED/Weapons Attacks on JTF patrols vehicles and locations.”
“The following items were recovered at d raided location; 3 AK 47 Rifles,2 Dane Guns, 3 magazines, 36 rounds  of 7.62mm Special ammunition, 2 Bows and 18 Arrows and assorted IED materials’, the text statement read.” Musa said.
