DIVORCE: My Wife Can't Cook, She Slept With My Brother - Husband

The woman denies engaging in adultery.
An Igando Customary Court in Lagos, on Tuesday, dissolved a 12-year-old marriage of a carpenter who accused his wife of having an illicit affair with his brother.
The President of the Court, Adewale Eko, held that Richard Olanrenwaju and Elizabeth are no longer husband and wife, as efforts of the court to save their union had failed.
“This court has no choice than to dissolve the union; in spite of the fact that the wife still claims she loves her husband.
“The parties are free to go their separate ways,’’ Mr. Eko held.
He referred the custody of the four children of the marriage to the Family Court.
Mr. Eko also ordered the man to pay N50, 000 his ex-wife to enable her begin a new life.
Mr. Olanrewaju, 34, filed for divorce on August 16, claiming that Elizabeth was also a bad cook.
Since I married my wife, I hardly enjoyed her food; she is a bad cook.
“Most times, I am forced to buy food to eat,” he had submitted.
He said that Elizabeth had an illicit affair with his younger brother when she travelled to his parent’s residence in Ekiti.
“When I confronted her, she confessed and begged for forgiveness,” he said.
Elizabeth, 32, however, denied having any sexual relationship with her brother-in-law.
“When I went to Ekiti, my husband’s brother and I shared a room,” she said. “At night, my brother-in-law tried to make love with me, but I pushed him away and ran to my mother- in-law’s room.”
