Nollywood actress, Nuella Njubigbo may not be a household name, in fact, she has not even been around in the industry for a very long time, but she’s already getting into more controversies than one would expect.
Fondly called Ella by most of her friends, the Anambra State-born graduate of Public Administration from the Imo State University has probably had more controversies than the number of movies she has featured in.
The sexy actress who started out as a script writer before veering into movies proper, has had it all: from husband snatching scandals to allegations she’s dating top politicians.
Recently, her brand new 2011 Toyota Highlander, SUV was alleged by popular blogger Stella Dimoko-Korkus to have been given to her by her recent lover, Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi as a gift.
The allegation, thus brought a series of accusations and counter-accusations with her publicists alleging that the blogger, ‘for some reason, was on an all out mission to defame Neulla’s character’.
Some sources have questioned how the rising actress who is not even in the A-list category could solely acquire that kind of automobile if not by other means. One source told NET, ‘Many of these girls are in a race to meet up with some of their more successful colleagues even when they have neither had a longer stint in the industry nor worked half as hard as the others. So, when all of these so-called big boys approach them, they are willing to do anything to get a little luxury’
Last year, Nuella was also fingered to be the reason behind the crashed marriage of Nollywood director, Tchidi Chikere and wife, Sophia. It was alleged that Tchidi and Nuella were deep in a romantic affair, which even resulted to Nuella getting pregnant. On finding out what had been happening right under her nose, Tchidi’s wife, Sophia, who is also a budding actress, walked out of the marriage.
A source in the industry who is close to all of the parties involved in this drama, told NET, ‘At the time, I was disappointed with Nuella. Sophia is my friend, and so is Nuella. So when I found out she was dating Tchidi I was not happy with her. I tried to dissuade her to drop the act because I knew it would hurt my friend Sophia when she finds out, but she didn’t listen at the time’.
When she was confronted by reporters about the allegations, Nuella stated, ‘I was surprised seeing a lot of false write-ups on me, putting my name in what I knew nothing about. Tchidi is just my senior colleague I respect and work with. He is my friend’.
When the lid was blown off, Nuella allegedly moved on from Tchidi to a short romance with Russian based Nigerian footballer, Emmanuel Emenike. Her relationship with the footballer didn’t last long as she was said to have run into another lady with Emenike the last time she made a trip to Russia.
Responding to some of the recent allegations, Nuella’s PR company, Prestige Media stated, ‘If you notice, the fastest growing actress in Nollywood at the moment is Nuella Njubigbo. So we are not surprised that some people have made it their hobbies to manufacture lies about our client’.
The ‘Beautiful Colour’ actress continues to deny the relationship with the governor who many say has romanced quite a few Nollywood actresses. Nuella, who made it into the movie industry in 2007 in Royal Destiny, says she has decided to rather focus on her career and currently working on her first produced movie titled Jujuwood.
She did not respond to our calls and text messages over the weekend.
