In what could be termed a homicide case, the Commissioner of Police in Plateu State has said that one Maryam Yahaya made a confessional statement that she killed her husband, Lawal Bala by stabbing him with a knife on his neck while the said deceased was sleeping in his bedroom on 9th, July, 2013.
It would be recalled that on the aforementioned date, a butcher who got married over a month ago was killed by unknown persons, while relaxing in his home at Layin Sidi, Gangare in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State, shortly after he returned from his business.
DailyPost then reported that people from the community came out in their hundreds, at the entrance of the deceased house wailing, while others insisted the wife of the deceased be produced, as she was suspected to have killed the husband.
It was further reveal that, the deceased wife who is 17 years of age decried that, the man always have sexual intercourse with her up to six times in a day, and that she was forcefully married to him.
The Wife who is two months pregnant had pleaded for forgiveness, saying that she regrets her action.
Also, in another case of culpable homicide, the Police Chief said, “On the 22nd, February, 2013 at about 10:00 hours, one Salihu Miri of Shwar village in Kanke Local Government Area of the State reported that his son, Goltona Salihu, 11, AKA Charimo left home for grazing of cows and he did not return.
“A search party was organized; and his corpse was later found without his eyes and also decomposed .
Adding that, “On the 26th, July, 2013 one Tacha Tali was seen with dry human eyes. He was arrested and during investigation, he confessed that he was the one that killed the said Goltona Salihu and plucked his eyes out for ritual purposes.
He also named his conspirators as Nengak Sunday, Kulime Nangkum (herbalists) and Ngonap Tapyitda.
The Commissioner called on the people of the state to continue to give useful information to security agents, in order to help rid the state of criminals.
