Reports reaching us indicate that the headquarters of popular weekly magazine, TheNEWs, and evening tabloid, PM NEWS, is on fire.
An editor with the publications, Bamidele Johnson, said the fire started over an hour ago.
“There is fire at the PM News and TheNews Offic on Acme Road, Mr. Johnson said in an update on his Facebook page an hour ago.
About forty minutes later, he said, “We need fire service here. My office, TheNews, PM NEWS, in flames. Fire service delaying.”
A while ago, the editor updated his page saying, “Almost one hour since fire started in our office, the fire service is just coming despite numerous calls.”
Minutes later, a combined team of firemen and passersby are reported to have put out the fire.
The cause of the fire and the extent of damage are yet unknown.
