BLOODBATH: 10 Killed In Platueau Beer Parlour?

Villagers from Hiepang  and other communities in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State yesterday barricaded the Jos-Abuja Road to prevent motorists plying the route from having free access, following the killing of at least 10 persons by unknown gunmen, who stormed a beer palour in the locality.
Eight people had died on the spot, while two more died yesterday morning at the Plateau Specialists Hospital, Jos, where they have been receiving treatment along with others who were shot at ‘ 5 K’ drinking joint.

The gunmen who were said to be in a Toyota Hilux vehicle opened fire on the people relaxing at the bar and drove off immediately. This was the second time within a month when gunmen would attack men at relaxation spots in the same local government area, killing scores of people.
Angry youths from the area, with some women who were weeping openly had yesterday thronged  the main road to protest the unprovoked killings of their members. Motorists plying the road were forced  to make a detour and look for alternative routes to their destinations before the situation becomes disastrous.
The Spokesman of the Special Task Force, Captain Salisu Mustapha in a statement confirmed the incident and said situation in the area had been brought under control. In the statement, he said the gunmen opened fire on customers who came to unwind at the bar ,killing eight on the spot , while two died as a result of gunshots wound in the hospital.
