BOKO HARAM: ANPP Chairman Killed?

The murdered politician returned from hajj a few days ago.
Reports reaching PREMIUM TIMES indicate that the Chairman of the All Nigeria Peoples Party in Magumeri Local Government Area of Borno State, Tar Kusurambe, has been murdered.
The chairman, who returned from Hajj a few days ago, was murdered on Monday at about 2 a.m.
Though no group has claimed responsibility for the attack, it is believed to have been carried out by members of the insurgent Boko Haram group.
The Borno Joint Task Force and the state police did not respond to calls for details of the incident.
Mr. Kusurambe is not the first ANPP chieftain to be killed by suspected insurgents. The ANPP gubernatorial candidate for the 2011 elections was also murdered before the elections and had to be replaced.
Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, is the base of the Boko Haram sect which has publicly declared the Chairman of the ANPP Board of Trustees, Ali Modu Sheriff, as its number one enemy.
The group allege that Mr. Sheriff, a two term governor of the state, played a major role in the extra-judicial murder of its former leader, Mohammed Yusuf.
The current governor of the state, Kashim Shettima, is also a member of the ANPP.
