Leader of the Movement for the Actualization of
the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, Chief Raph Uwazuruike, last
weekend beat the men of the state security services, SSS, attached to
late Dim Emeka Ojukwu’s residence and escaped arrest over alleged
lawless activities during the traditional removal of mourning cloth by
Ojukwu family at Umudim, Nnewi.
The first son of the late Ezeigbogburugburu, Chief Emeka Ojukwu jnr, who spoke to reporters, yesterday, on the incident, said the attempt by the SSS to arrest Uwazuruike was because of the unruly behaviour he and his personal security, in their hundreds, exhibited at the family home early morning of the day before the church service.
He said Uwazuruike, who was invited to the occasion by Ojukwu’s wife, Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu, had neglected the advice of the security men at the gate that he should go into the compound with a few of his men but defied the advice.
